establishment of the inventory is that of the editors. José
Mattoso, Paulo Pereira and Teresa Belo are "consultores
científicos". Chapter introductions are being written by
Álvaro Duarte de Almeida and Paulo Pereira. A large team is
working on descriptions of individual units of patrimony as
well as documentary research, and a significant number of
entries are signed with the initials of the contributors,
such as Paulo Pereira (PP), Fernando Mota de Matos (FMM),
Ana Cláudia Vicente (AV), etc. Cartographical support in
digital form is being provided by the Instituto Geográfico
do Exército. The work is being produced in collaboration
with the Ministério da Cultura and the Instituto Português
do Património Arquitectónico.
