Second yearbook for the 29-volume Enciclopédia Verbo Luso-Brasileira de Cultura, Edição século XXI, the main text of which was completed in 2003. Among the contributors are António Braz Teixeira, Eugénio Lisboa, João Bigotte Chorão, Fernando Adão da Fonseca, Jorge Calaço, Fernando Guedes, José-Augusto França, Luiz Francisco Rebello, and Teresa Siza. The volume was directed by Fernando Guedes and coordinated by Jorge Colaço.

Facsimile reprint of the original 1741-59 edition. The author was “incontestably the greatest Portuguese bibliographer. His Bibliotheca lusitana forms the basis of all Portuguese bibliography . . . The confidence with which he wrote and the exactitude of the biographical facts make these four folios an indispensable reference work even today” (Borba de Moraes [1983] II, 969). Because it covers Portuguese authors writing in Portuguese or any other language, the Bibliotheca lusitana is not superseded by Innocêncio, who deals mainly with works in Portuguese.
