is the first volume in a new series, Panos: Palcos Novos
Palavras Novas, a project of Culturgest, whose express aim
is to unite contemporary drama with student or juvenile
theater. The two plays by Portuguese authors were written
for this volume. The translation of Citizenship
was
selected to accompany them; there is a single page "Nota
sobre a tradução de Cidadania"

Jacinto Lucas Pires was born in Porto in 1974. He has
written a novel, Do
sol (2004), a
volume with very short stories, Para
averiguar do seu grau de pureza (1996), another
with three pieces of short fiction and two
screenplays,2 Filmes e
Algo de Algodão (1999); a
number of plays, including Universos e
frigoríficos (1997)
and Arranha-céus
(1999),
and Escrever,
falar: dois diálogos e um monólogo (2002); and a
novella, Azul-turquesa,
which first appeared in June 1998; a second edition came
out in July of the same year. He has also written a volume
of impressions of Japan: Livro usado
(numa viagem ao Japão) (2001).
