The neo-figurative expressionist Cabo Verdean painter Kiki Lima has had numerous individual exhibitions, in his own country, Portugal, and throughout the world. His work has also appeared in many collective shows. His subjects are mostly the popular life and people of Cabo Verde. The English text, translated by Ana Saldanha, reads intelligibly, if with a certain stiffness. The Spanish text, translated by ad-verbum, appears to be fairly well done.
