First published late 2003, this seventh edition appeared in February 2004.

This most interesting and complex volume includes essays by Schopp on the reception of adventure novels by Dumas; Rodrigues on "Alexandre, o conquistado;" and Guerreiro on Dumas and the passion for adventure. José-Augusto França provides "Duas notas sobre Alexandre Dumas em Portugal". Manuela Rêgo and Miguel Castelo-Branco catalogued the exhibition. There are 948 entries, occupying pp. [95]-245; they also provide a title essay, "Antes das Playstations" (pp. [73]-91), introducing the catalogue. Interspersed with the catalogue are brief essays, presumably by Rêgo and Castelo-Branco, on Jules Verne, Mark Twain, Robert Louis Stevenson, Rider Haggard, Emilio Salgari, and Arturo Pérez-Reverte. Much attention is focused on the creation of Portuguese versions of "paraliterary" books of adventures during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Diogo Pires Aurélio provides an introduction.

About half the book consists of essays about Feliciano Falcão (1911-1988) by the editor, Eugénio Lisboa, Manuel Poppe, Fernando Mão de Ferro, Fernando J.B. Martinho, and others. The second half includes essays by Falcão, many of which had originally appeared in A rabaca and other newspapers and journals. Several deal with Régio, others are about art, music, and politics. His famous, and at the time controversial "De médico curandeiro em terras medievais" is included.

The physician Feliciano Falcão, a friend and supporter of José Régio, was a political opponent of the Salazar regime, and before that of General Carmona's military government. Between 1972 and 1980 he gave talks on music, painting, literature, and politics at the Escola do Magistério, Escola Mousinho da Silveira, and the Graal of Portalegre. He became editor-in-chief of the regional newspaper A rabaca in 1973. A member of AMICITIA, a cultural group in Portalegre, he wrote for its Boletim, and was also one of the founders of Cine-Clube de Portalegre, which was eventually closed down due to goverment pressures.
