This issue includes an interview with Richard Zimler, as well as contributions by Paulo Varela Gomes, Tereza Coelho, Maria Cardeira da Silva (on Edward Said), Mario Vargas Llosa, Eduardo Prado Coelho, Vasco Graça Moura, and Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa. There are a series of brief comments on "O Natal dos escritores" by Mário Cláudio, Cláudia Clemente, Adília Lopes, Lídia Jorge, Clara Pinto Correia, Fernando Campos, Filipa Melo, Mário de Carvalho, and Inês Pedrosa. In effect this is a monthly partial trade list, with all the disadvantages of such publications from a library acquisitions standpoint. On the other hand, the intellectual content is most interesting. We are happy to take standing orders for this important magazine.

The editorial board presently consists of Ana Maria Santos, Anick Bilreiro, Maria José Gonçalves, Rita Rodrigues, and Susana Sena. The first eight issues (as well as number 0) were directed by Nuno Júdice; the editorial board consisted of Fernando Pinto de Amaral, Manuel António Pina, Alexandre Pomar, and Joana Morais Varela.
