Fernando Lanhas is one of Portugal's most important living artists. Born in Porto in 1923, he began his career as a neofigurative painter and later turned abstract; he also is a respected architect. His paintings are on display in the Colecções do Estado, the Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, the San Francisco Museum of Art, etc.
