Two
act play in which the characters are Manuel Teixeira Gomes
(when he was President of Portugal and afterwards, in exile
at Bougie), Viana de Carvalho (secretary to Teixeira
Gomes), Tenente Brito (officer-aide to the President),
Columbano Bordallo Pinheiro (near the end of his life), and
"República" (described as "mulher de trinta anos"). The
author's A dúvida
melódica was awarded the
Prémio de Poesia Cidade da Amadora, 1993. Born in Cascais
in 1951, he has published at least 33 volumes of poetry, a
number of which have also been awarded literary prizes,
including the Prémio Eça de Queiroz-Município de Lisboa
(twice), the Prémio Gulbenkian, and others. See

January 1994 until January 2002 the author was Vereador da
Cultura for the Câmara Municipal de Cascais.
